[text] @riku; lost & found and other stuff [open]
Hey. Hope you're all staying safe. It's icy out there.
The Postmaster gave me a package. Couldn't tell you who sent it but I think there's been a mistake. This was inside.
[ There's a picture attached of a yarn snowman wearing a knit black cap and black and white knitted scarf with green buttons for eyes. It's pretty cute... ]
Does this belong to anyone?
One more thing.
The movie theater downtown has a stage and multiple film projectors. Big library of films too. The spirits working the concession counter seem okay too.
Only problem is it needs power. Take a look at this.
[ The attached picture shows five slots that look like they could fit a big square car battery or something like it. ]
Not exactly urgent. Still, a movie sometimes might not be too bad.

might be able to hook you up with some power
tons of batteries sitting in old piles of junk but there might be some that still got juice left
it'd only be temporary unless u can get ur hands on a new one but it might do the trick

We tried charging them without whatever should go in those slots. Didn't take. They started to run but nothing else happened.
They're square cubes. Kinda. Bigger than
wait you guys don't use gummi blocks

what the hell is a gummi block

@kent
I'm guessing this place runs on electric power? Is that power box for the whole theatre?

[ He'd name drop who else helped, but... he'll respect their privacy. That's a kind thing Clark said, he's probably being rude, but Riku doesn't feel like he's done anything noteworthy. ]
You're right. We were able to start it up briefly but it won't work without some kind of power cell or battery.

[Look, she's not saying it's a good idea, but it seems like the right sort of magitek bullshit.]

No, you know that's just like suggesting someone power a movie with their life, right? :/

or they might have used a spare lantern to hold a flame from the bonfire. there have to be spares somewhere, to use when new people are brought in.

Also, your snowman doll kind of reminds me of the snowmen I made around New Years...but that was awhile ago now. Also out of actual snow and not yarn. I wonder if this was the same yarn they used for those sweaters left around town...assuming it's from the spirits anyway. Was there a note?
no subject
We tried that. It didn't hold. Maybe the bulb was burnt out, maybe we just need something to hold the charge. I don't know.

@wayne
But it's possible that the battery alone won't be enough.

If you know where the one in the scrapyard is, maybe we should start collecting these in a central location. There's bound to be more locations that need power. Wouldn't be fair to reserve them only for something so frivolous.

No one would design something with such a universal form unless it would be useful. No world has limitless resources, so...
[ Riku says, trailing off. It doesn't make complete sense like a written sentence might but that's just how stream of consciousness goes. Thing is, he agrees that if one place downtown might need batteries to work, there will be other places that use the same standardized technology or power source. ]

@harrington
there were a couple of locked shops at the mall
one guarded by a million crocs
could be worth looking into
I wouldn't mind catching a movie again
[ The last time he saw one, he was h i g h off his keister, so who even knows what Back to the Future was about. ]

That's worth bringing up to the rest in Beacon. There might be some people with time to check it out.
(no subject)
@hamada
I might be able to come up with something that would work like a battery, but I'd need to figure out how to charge and recharge it.
no subject
Besides... how does Beacon have electricity to power our appliances?
It's gotta come from somewhere.

Also, either you moved out or someone stole all your stuff. I'm sorry I didn't notice either way.

I wasn't really using the bed anyway. Doesn't seem fair to call dibs when we keep getting more people.
How are you holding up?
