@daylit; audio.
Hey guys! So, I made a post about studying the language a month or so, right? I made progress on it! Not a lot of progress but some progress? With words and everything? Got a few phrases and descriptives and stuff like that!
Hmmm... It'll be easier to explain this if I demonstrated it to you guys, right? Right- I'll use the ocarina for this but, um, I promise, we'll try to transcribe the melodies to other instruments soon. Anyways-
[ daylight then proceeds to play a series of melodies and notes, taking his time to explain what they mean and how to play it on the ocarina.
when he finishes his little demo, he continues talking: ] Later, in the day, I'll add all of this stuff to the spirit language app we have on the tablet here. So you guys can practice it for yourselves if you want to do that.
And... Um... For the next few months, I'll be more focused on trying to crack the grammar of the spirits' language since I think the lexicon - I think that means the total words and stuff? (sorry, grandma!) - is robust enough that I don't need to keep digging for new combinations to the phonetics anymore.
So yeah... That's it! If you guys, like, have questions about how to play the music and, er, stuff- Let me know? I'll try to answer what I can.

daylight tilts his helm, piqued by this detail. ]
Well... [ sorry, molly. you gotta give daylight a second here. he's not used to speculating so deeply. ] She and the others from the Night Market - like Big Sis - are... were part of previous groups. Right? And we don't know anything about their previous attempts or the progress they made.
Maybe she knew about it personally? Or others from her group had a run-in with it? [ that could be possible? possibly. ] Did she say anything after you told her that?

[ hang on now, molly! that has daylight thinking things™ here and one could almost hear the metaphorical lightbulb going over his helm.
he quickly opens the map that's on the tablet, trying to find any hints or clues to a possible mine. ] What do you remember from your dream, exactly? Any tools or machines in the area? The colour of the rocks or the particular, um, shape of the area?

[He takes a deep breath and pinches the bridge of his nose.] It all sort of went sideways when some spirit ripped my eyes out of my head.

[ daylight winces and reaches out to check his own optics, as if to be sure that they're still there and won't get torn out by a spirit anytime soon.
that's a way to go. ] Sorry to hear about that, Molly. That's harsh.
[ he tries not to dwell on that too much, not wanting to make this uncomfortable for anyone. ] From the description you gave from of the helmet and lanterns... It does give me enough to guess in the dark and suggest it could be a type of underground mining. [ much as he wants to think it could surface mining since they're, well, near the mountains. there's no evidence of the mountain having been worked on. ] Do you know if anything happened after you... you know... ran into that spirit?

(and cue him hiding his winglets though there's no need for it, not really.) ] Erm... Before your eyes, I guess?
[ there's a pause on daylight's end, as if he's considering something, and then he adds, ] I'm sorry that happened to you, Molly. That sucks.

[He hisses out air between his teeth.] I don't really remember what they looked like. They didn't really look like anything They were just... tendrils or something.

[ daylight feels bad for pestering so much for information now, having a gotten much better picture of what the others had gone through in their visions. it wasn't pretty, he knows that now. ]
Yeah. I can feel you on that one, Molly. [ daylight's time in the radio tower comes to mind and yeah. he's not ready to talk about that just yet.
so he tries to be positive and cheerful, starting with a breathless, ] Thanks for telling me this stuff, Molly. It doesn't seem like a lot now but it'll help build things up over time. Like finding the puzzles pieces we thought were missing for the big picture!
I definitely want to find these mines one of these days. They could hold some information or things we can use.

[ aaaaand he goes back to touching his optics. ]
Th- Thanks for the heads up, Molly. I'll like to stay in one piece and I'll try to get around to writing this information down in the logbook to give others a heads up.
If, um, that's alright with you.

Take care of yourself, okay? I'll try to keep in with you soon if I learn anything interesting about the spirit language or anything related to the mines.
