Hi! I’m Daylight. Um… I know a lot’s been happening and we’re all trying to figure out what we can do to help. It’s actually why I’m making this post now, honestly.

A few months back we had this scavenger hunt event. It was run by Ms. Robin- [ he falters here, the memory of her latest post still fresh in his processors.

he shakes his helm, grateful that no one can see him, and continues on: ] -and I got something for participating in it. It was a phrase from the forest spirits' language. The one where we use with the ocarinas and language app she also set up for us in our tablets.

A friend of mine- Riku, he's really nice - he said he also got one. So did someone else after the event. So I’m thinking she must have given to everyone who participated in it and I'm hoping you guys, if you have it, can pass them along to me. I want to try and use the phrases we have to figure out more about their language. Make more phrases, find new words. Stuff like that. I want to talk to them. See if they can direct me to the green-eyed spirits.

It may be wise for them to stay in the forest and lay low. There are many who won't be kind about what has happened, regardless of who's at fault.

I know and I'll definitely keep that in mind. I just... [ he knows he's going to sound silly or, worse, ridiculously naive but he wants to say it- ] I just hope we all can reach an understanding soon.

Because, um, because- We gotta work together, right? In order to solve what's happening in the world here. I think that should include the spirits since they were here first and they could hold a lot of keys to the puzzles we're trying to fix.

We do, and their input would be beneficial, but that's assuming we're all working towards a shared goal. What they want might not be the same as us.

They live in the complete darkness of the forest, what if bringing the sun back exterminates them?

[ daylight freezes up when that's brought up. ]

Do you- [ he needs to reset his vocaliser, as if he doesn't want to even say the words he knows he needs to say. ] Do you really think that's a possibility? Our friends will end up dying if we... if we do what we need to do?

It's certainly possible. They don't seem to be injured by the bonfire, so that light isn't hurting them. But if the sun comes out I'm unsure what will happen to them.

Perhaps they will become nocturnal and all will be well.

[That's overly optimistic and he knows it.]

[ daylight falls quiet after that. long enough that it'll be understandable for anyone to think that he had dropped the connection altogether.

but then he speaks, uncertain and soft but clearly stubbornly set in his words: ]

... We gotta help them more than ever then. If we're here to save the world, that includes everyone here. [ he lets out a huff under his breath, muttering to what he thinks to himself. ] We gotta. It isn't right if we don't even try.

We will try. My only caution is to remember that they may not want to help us out of fear for their own self preservation. It's only natural.

It may not even come to that, just be careful.

Thank you for your concern, sir. I'll do my best to be careful. Last thing I want to do is cause an incident. Even if they don't want our help, I don't feel like it's right to not try.
