Hi! I’m Daylight. Um… I know a lot’s been happening and we’re all trying to figure out what we can do to help. It’s actually why I’m making this post now, honestly.

A few months back we had this scavenger hunt event. It was run by Ms. Robin- [ he falters here, the memory of her latest post still fresh in his processors.

he shakes his helm, grateful that no one can see him, and continues on: ] -and I got something for participating in it. It was a phrase from the forest spirits' language. The one where we use with the ocarinas and language app she also set up for us in our tablets.

A friend of mine- Riku, he's really nice - he said he also got one. So did someone else after the event. So I’m thinking she must have given to everyone who participated in it and I'm hoping you guys, if you have it, can pass them along to me. I want to try and use the phrases we have to figure out more about their language. Make more phrases, find new words. Stuff like that. I want to talk to them. See if they can direct me to the green-eyed spirits.

So if you guys got anything similar to this, you can let me know here or in my inbox or in person or whatever works best for you. I, um, will try to pay you guys if you want something in return.

It's okay, Jo. I'm starting to think rare phrases are, um... Rare.

It's why I want to do this project, you know? So we're not just limited to a collection of phrases and sentences that can only help us in a specific pinch.

[ like- he's super grateful of ms. robin offering them the app and the knowledge in the first place. so day is going to do what he can to expand it for everyone's sake. ]

[Jo is pretty sure the phrases they have can be useful in more than a pinch, but it would help to know more. She won't deny that.]

Are you sure that talking to them is a good idea right now?

[ daylight makes a thoughtful little sound at the question, no doubt giving his answer some thought before he speaks. ]

It's now or never, I suppose. [ that's the best way to summarise it. let's see if he can explain it better: ] They already showed a willingness to answer the others a while back. It wouldn't hurt to try and capitalise that while the encounters with the others are, um, still fresh in their minds.

Plus- When will it be a good time to speak with them?

[It's a fair question. She sighs as she thinks it over.]

Maybe not when it's freezing? What if you get lost?

I want to do it soon as possible. You know- Strike the irons while they're hot? [ chat the spirits while they could possibly be in the mood.

he shifts into a cheerful, more upbeat tone. perhaps to try and assure jo with his confidence: ] Besides! I have a friend coming with me when I go in there and I trust him. We're friends and we'll do what we can to protect the other.

[knifecollecting]

[She shakes her head again. Even striking while the iron is hot...]

Who? How do you know you can trust him? [She's certain that Day trusts a lot of people. It's not always good to be so trusting.]

It's Soldat. I don't know if you know him but I know I can trust him. He saved me during one of the weird attacks or events or whatever. One from a few months back. [ day doesn't go any further than that but he knows if soldat hadn't intervened, than day wouldn't be talking right now. not as easily. ]

So I trust him with my life. I know I can when he's had my back before.

[ daylight is surprisingly stubborn and set on this part, his voice becoming firmer and unyielding in a way that hints he won't have any discussion on this now. ]

[Jo can't argue with that, and she wouldn't. She knows how it goes. She has a list of people like that too, though it isn't as long here as it was back home.]

You might be able to trust him, but what about the green-eyed spirits? They're not good news.

[sunborne]

[ day falls quiet for a second, clearly thinking on this.

finally, he says, ] There's got to be an effort made. It's risky but there's a chance there. I want to take that chance because we'll know for sure then about stuff.

Besides- [ he tries to be humorous, not wanting to be too serious since it feels kinda weird for him. ] -Better me than anyone else, right? I mean- If this helps the others out, it's a risk I'll be willing to take.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo shakes her head with a sigh. She's used that logic herself, even at her death, but she doesn't like hearing it from others.]

You don't have to do everything. No one has to do everything.

[She doubts that will work. She says it anyway.]
