Heyyy everybody. I'm the LH Keeper. I know you guys probably got some questions for me but like sit tight first OK? I promise I'll answer eeeeverything you wanna know in just a sec. There's a couple things I wanna say.

The first one being, hi! I'm Robin. It's SO good to finally get to chat with you all, like jeez I've been hella bored over here. That party you guys just put on looked really fun. :( I'm sad I missed it! But that's kinda how it goes when you're the Keeper. Rastus said there's been a lot of talk about like fulfilling our roles and stuff, and this is mine! I'm in the lighthouse because it let's me do a bunch of stuff to manage the town and help keep the world safe, but it means I'm stuck out here all by myself and I don't get to do the fun stuff I want to do sometimes. Which is why I'm so so SO happy that you guys and gals got me hooked up to the network again! Thank you so much!!! ❤❤❤

Oh right, and you guys have had a lot of questions about what I'm protecting the town from, haven't you? Me and Will talked and he's super sure it's best if HE gives you the skinny on all that since he said he would and he wants to make good on his promise, you feel? So he's gonna do that after the ferry gets here so all the new people can get the info too. Sound good? Sorry you gotta wait just a liiiittle bit longer but there's something else I think we should talk about first...

The forest spirits are still reporting the numbers so I don't know exactly how many we're up to yet but... A lot of people went missing and probably died from how things went down after the party. I'll put all the names in the next bulletin (sorry I didn't do one this week btw! things have been kinda crazy...) but if you want to ask about your friends and stuff in the meantime, I'll do my best to tell you what I know. Maybe some of them will come back? We just have to wait and see.

But... you guys probably saw this in that post Rosinante and Riku and Peter did, but just in case you didn't: Captain Winters died, and so did Five. I didn't see what happened exactly but I saw the spirits starting to come for them all and I tried to stop them but they didn't listen. They get really angry about people coming to the lighthouse or me trying to leave, even the ones that are usually really nice.

I hope they'll both come back but I don't know if they will, so, just in case... Winters would want you all to take care of the town for him and move on you know? He won't be around when the ferry comes so make sure you all fill the new people in on what's happened and how to survive here. All that really important stuff he's been telling people is up to you guys to spread around now.

*BIG SIGH* OK WELL I don't want to end on that super negative note but now I'm all sad sooo ask me questions and stuff, and Will will tell everyone about what I'm keeping the town safe from real soon. It really is nice to meet you all!!

how utterly convenient that this technology exists in only one place and it's the one we're told not to go to. at risk to being attacked by spirits, I assume.

Yeah. Dying in battle, doing your duty, whatever . . . I'm not saying it was good, but if it's for the cause, it's better. that's how i went out, and i dont regret it

The trolley problem is like... Okay, so you've got this train speeding along out of control on these tracks, and up ahead there's five people tied to the tracks. They're gonna get run over and killed by the train unless you do something.

But the only thing you can do is redirect the train onto a set of tracks with just one person tied to it.

So, like, the idea is, you either do nothing and a lot of people die, but you didn't interfere with the situation and like play God. Or, you can make the decision to just kill the one person and spare the five, but then you have to live with having chosen someone's fate.

There's no winning, is what I'm saying. Every time I do a reset, it's me making that decision. It sucks. I don't LIKE it, despite what some of you are implying! What the hell did Winters say to you guys???

But... That's something I've considered! But what does "should" even mean in this scenario? It's just the trolley problem again. Either we accept our fate and let stuff die or we make sacrifices to see if we can eventually break off the track entirely.

That's one way to look at it. I don't, since it was my only choice, and we're all stuck here anyway, so... Idk! All that matters is that I'm here now.

If the light goes out, the lighthouse shuts down, meaning we're fucked LOL. Without the lighthouse, we don't have ANY control over the town or the forest spirits, and we lose all of our defenses against the stuff Will's gonna tell you about. It'd be super bad if the beacon went out and someone wasn't around to relight it with their lantern. The town wouldn't last very long.

I mean, either way, I would be dead, so that would suck! But it would suck MORE if it was just out permanently.

Can you tell me more about how people arrive here? I realize "the ferry" is the standard answer, but I meant from a more metaphysical point of view. We all of us came from other universes . . . and it's more than possible to bring a person from one world to anothe.r But I want to see if the method that was used here is the method I'm familiar with.

If you aren't familiar with physics, I can work with that.

I'm also not yelling at you. You said you had a map but were going to withhold it. That seems like a needless risk to our safety, when we should use any resource we have to be able to plan accurately against future attacks. So if you want a question: would you please share your map?

But maybe it doesn't matter. Darkness isn't something that can be defeated entirely. You can push it down, but it never goes away. Why fight it?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we're special. I believe you when you say that anyone can turn up here. We've already got a couple of people from different versions of the same world/from different timelines.

[ and peter's met at least six alternate versions of himself, and that's not even touching on the spider-people who aren't versions of peter parker, so. soz, robin, different versions of the same person turning up is not weird. that's, like, normal. ]

You say 'how do we know this kind of thing doesn't just happen when people die', but this would mean that...

If this IS a thing that happens when people die, it holds a lot of implications for the structure of time across the multiverse. It also means that 1. if this is magic, there's either a being capable of existing across those dimensions itself and pulling all sorts of people to one dimension after death, 2. if it's tech, same as 1. Someone and something would have to be powering the portal. That generally doesn't go unnoticed.

I suppose the best way to describe my preferred location is sturdy and small. It would also be comforting to have the ability to fortify the door and windows of where I am during practice. Just in case anything happens and I need a headstart from myself and whatever that anything is should be when the moment arises.

i didn't catch them, but there's only so many ways to get supplies up there. it seemed more likely than the ferry making an extra stop.

what happens to the forest spirits when you reset the town? do they have some continuity, or are they reset too?

I am because that's how things worked for us so far. We treated the forest spirits nicely and with respect, they treated us nicely back. Some even left gifts. The spirit from the Library got me a doll and a keychain for my friend.

But the moment you showed up with foghorn they turned on us, regardless of what we did.
What am I supposed to make out of it? That it's all nice and peachy when people got murdered by them and we got attacked?
And that your intentions were as pure as day that we don't ever see? That that's how spirits always react and will always react?
Stop trying to think we will do and believe everything you say at the drop of a hat just because you're the Keeper.

I asked if you know what it is that makes people turn on each other.

Boredom? Distrust? Disease? Madness? All of it combined?
And how do we know when someone is slowly going mad?

I tend to cut trouble in the roots.

I didn't really mean "crazy" in the literal sense, sorry! I meant, like, they let the stress of this place get to them? This has happened a couple times, but it's usually just due to people deciding not to trust each other (or me!!!) and then trying some kind of mutiny. That's what happened last time. Everyone turned on each other and started a murder spree.

That kind of stuff is really hard to watch, but more importantly, it's the end of progress. If everyone's too busy killing or trying not to get killed, no one's working on FIXING this place. That's the whole point of being here, you know?

Buuuut as far as the green eyed thing, I've heard of something like that before. Never saw one myself, but they're bad news. Like, they're still forest spirits! Just a different kind or something. They can mess with your head.

I'm surprised you saw one. They're pretty rare. That could definitely be why the spirits all lost their shit, though.

OOOOK I get that this is sarcasm, but actually, it's pretty inconvenient. I wish I could give you guys this tech, but it's not like a program I can just upload to the network. It's this phonograph-looking thing. If I could even begin to understand it, I'd pass it along, believe me. And if I could have house parties, I would!

I didn't set this system up. If I had, I would've designed it WAY differently.

I could, yeah. That's the one thing I have complete control over. It's, like, my main job.
