I am Merwen, for those whom I have not yet shared meeting.  I am hoping to share knowledge.

I received a message from an unliving doll. I thought it was meant to be a prediction, but it seems to be more a description of a place.

If you've got things you want to get rid of or you want to look for treasure among what others have left behind, there's a place where you can refuel in between two places where both actions can be done.

I am still recently arrived, and I do not know Beacon well enough to think where this place might be, or if this is a place I should seek out.

I'm sorry for any discomfort, but there's nothing to be concerned about, ma'am. I'm a highly-trained soldier and adept with the operation of firearms.

We can't keep hostiles away with our fists and positive thinking alone.

That you are skilled at hastening death is not a comfort to me. I will not share with spirits what I would not accept for myself.

If they choose to attack, then it's self-defense. To say nothing of the fact that they are already dead. [Granted... so are they.]

What exactly do you intend to "share" with them if they become hostile?

At least, I intend to make the attempt. I am well aware that this may end in the hastening of my death, but if understanding can be shared with these spirits, I must make the attempt.
