I was working on a way to separate myself from the lighthouse. Not forever, but make it so that anyone could come and go without fear of being attacked. Thought I had it, but I miscalculated. I got out, but it didn't last. Now that there's not a lighthouse, doesn't really matter anymore.
[It matters in some ways: when he died, everyone died with him. And now he's back, the only survivor from that era of Beacon. That's something he'll reflect on further in private.]
