Soooooooo, funny story... I'm alive. 😬 And I got my tablet working again, so that's pretty cool!!

I know everyone's gonna ask what the heck happened, but honest answer? No idea. I remember the ground started to feel kinda funny during the storm, and I was trying to get out of the lighthouse cos the spirits were freaking out? But like, idk, I guess I like hit my head or something??? I woke up in the woods with the WOOOOOOORST headache and a bunch of spirits and none of my crap to get in touch with anyone. >:[

Anyway, you guys have probably noticed by now that the lighthouse collapsed. :/ That super sucks for like a thousand reasons. I dunno what we're gonna do about that, but as far as *I'm* concerned, I got my old lantern back and I fixed up my tablet. So the good news is I'm not stuck in the lighthouse anymore, buuuuut the bad news for you guys is that I don't have access to any of the equipment or records I was using to help out. I'm just a normie again!!!

All in all I feel like this development is probably like super duper bad since I can't get in touch with Dr. Solis OR Rastus OR Pluto and all our useful crap is out of commission, but...... We'll figure it out, right? I'm gonna try to stay hopeful??

But uhh so that's the status update on me! What's been up with you guys?

It's a real relief to hear you're all right. I went out to the lighthouse with a few others to look for you right after the flood. It's incredible you survived that.

Right!?! The whole thing like totally almost collapsed on me!! How nuts!!! I guess the spirits must have grabbed me before it went down.

I'm OK for now I think... I haven't ventured back into town yet. Are things like really messed up??

Yeah, we're still in rough shape out here. People are working on fixing some of it, piece by piece, but we're going to run out of rope and nails and other basics before we finish at this rate. Low on food, too. We kinda raided the canned stuff that we found in the lighthouse ruins. Hope that's all right.

Jeez... So the ferry hasn't been coming by, huh? Can't say I'm surprised since I've kinda been keeping an eye on the lake. Crap!!!

Is there anything else out at the lighthouse you think you could use?? Raid to your hearts content tbh! That place was like a prepper's dreamland.

We found a bunch of old stored paper records from some previous keeper tucked away. Hoping someone has time to go through those. A lot of the rest of it looked pretty smashed up. But hell, the food and other materials were salvageable so we took them. I guess if you need any of that it's back here in town waiting for you except for what's already been eaten.

I'm ok on food! Sorta. I haven't been eating a lot but you don't really need to so it's not a big deal. If you guys can use the supplies then by all means, especially if food's running low.

Yeah, it's a good thing too. Guess some people don't sleep well, or at all. Thankfully there's enough water. We'll make it work.

Couple weeks back the librarian spirit wrote a bulletin post like the ones you used to do, only it was barely readable. Said something about them finding you and taking care of you but since we hadn't heard anything since, it made me wonder if it was true.

Awww that's super cute of them!!! The Librarian has always been a good egg... a little weird, but all spirits are I guess, lol.

Confirmed enough. Haven't found any of those people since the flood but we recovered a couple of broken lanterns. It's... a big loss.

Yeah, no fucking kidding. :/ Especially with Rastus and Dr. Solis... like, jeez! That's kind of got me freaking out a little bit because like what do we even do now! It's like, there goes the experts??? Since we can't get in touch with Pluto either??

How many of you guys are left in town? Like idk rough estimate?

Pluto would have noticed things went wrong by now, right? No lighthouse means no items, no people, no activity at the portal. If she doesn't show up on time with answers then we have even more to worry about.

If the obituaries are right then that puts us at around half the people we had before the flood. Maybe around 30.

Yeah, she's on top of this stuff. She should definitely know by now that the lighthouse is toast, so if she COULD get over to us, I feel like she would've by now. :/ Maybe the station took damage or something and they can't spare the resources right now?? Or maybe they know something we don't and are laying low...

Idk, I guess we just need to keep an eye on the beach? I don't like not having a view of everything!! Even in the dark it was really handy!

oof. 30 isn't TERRIBLE but that's a lot of people lost... Unless, has anyone been rounding up the lanterns? Maybe that robot assistant knows a thing or two about lantern repair.

Here's hoping, but I hate having to sit around with my fingers crossed.

Don't know much about the robot itself, but I figure we have people who can go have a look at the equipment there and make some sense out of all of it. Even if we can't manage as well as Dr. Solis did, something's better than nothing, and we have necessity on our side. So that's something. There's a lot you can do with enough willpower. In the meantime some of the lanterns I think got moved to the school. Town Hall got pretty wrecked in the flood so we made a new memorial area for things like that.

Someone even managed to find Cpt. Winters' picture in what was left, so he's still with us in spirit. Might have one or two of Rastus' feathers there now too.

Omg you really think there's people in town that might be able to figure out lantern stuff??? That kinda stuff always seemed waaaaaay complicated to me and I thought it was like idk otherworldly sci-fi kinda tech!! The kind of science you see in movies and you just go "Wow no heckin clue how that's a thing but I'll just go with it because it's a movie!"

But I guess a lot of you guys SOUND like you're from movies or something, so maybe lantern stuff is more familiar to some of you? Either way I'll be really impressed if anyone can figure it out!

I'll take your word for it about movies. Books, I guess, would be the same idea though.

And you're right, there are people here who are far smarter than anyone I've ever met before. I'm sure some of them can put their heads together and come up with something brilliant even if none of them on their own are anything like Dr. Solis. Besides, whatever happened there left her notes intact. Just got to make sense of them.

Fairly certain. There was a machine there that described the viability of lanterns, and it identified it as hers.

And that it had 0 percent viability.

I mean, Idk anything about the lantern tech stuff but that sure makes it sound like we just lost our MVP!!! Dr. Solis is gone and the lighthouse is gone, so it's not like we have a whole lot left going for us!

I'm not the best to describe the damages, but there did seem to be some damage. Some sort of portal experiment. It is limited to a single room, though.

All the equipment seems to be in relative working order... it's just whether any of us understand that working order or not.

You mean like a portal experiment messed up her lab? Not the storm and the flood??

Yes. I couldn't really get a full scope of it, but the walls, the floor, they were all damaged.

Clara said she lost contact with her after the experiment, and considering what the room looks like after... I can understand why.

a group went out to search for solis. they didn't find her, but she had an assistant they brought back. she might be able to help with some of the technical details.

I'm so mad she never told me about this assistant!!!! It would've been super good info to have!!

Do you know if there's any like portal control/item ordering kinda equipment in her lab? I REALLY HOPE all the ferry needs to get going again is for someone to start manning those controls again, and Dr. Solis SHOULD have had a second set of those controls in her lab...

i haven't been myself to find out yet. but those who went said there was still equipment in place and that her notes were in tact, so that's something.

Are you staying somewhere safe? Most of us are at the Invincible or the Landmark. I know the spirits like you but it's still safer in groups.

I'm planning to come back to town, like, eventually, though.

[Soldat may stick up for the spirits and their intentions, but that doesn't mean they think the spirits know what actual, living(-ish) human beings need in terms of safety and nutrition. But they're also not great at challenging other people's decisions unless they're close, and Robin is definitely not in friend status at the moment.
