[Alone in his cabin, Quentin had plucked the gift from the door handle and carelessly opened it before reading the note. The chocolate hearts make his stomach clench, the scent of burned sugar is all in his head, but that doesn't make candy easier to stomach. He puts the hearts carefully on the table and reads the note-- and flips open the tablet.

There was only one name on that card, but Quentin is the only one living at the cabin since Eliot died and Riku found himself a secret cave somewhere. So--]

Imagine if El came back to you but in a different body, how do you think he'd feel seeing you grieve him?

I guess he'd feel kind of like how he does now? Except in a different body. But, really, magic is weird and I think something like that has already happened. Or, so. A friend was a fish for a while? But he got better. Kind of like that?
