Re: Housing concern.
Greetings,
My name is [It's a struggle getting used to typing the correct name here despite the reassuring network usename.] Minimus Ambus. If you have witnessed a large mechanical life form near the ferry today, you would have seen me. I have briefly gone through the buildings near the bonfire, but many appear to be occupied or otherwise not meeting my standards.
To those who have resided here for longer than I have: where are the cleanest residences? I require little, simply a flat surface on which to recharge and storage space. The current state of the room is not a barrier, considering the state of many things in Beacon, but I must be able to maintain it well and frequently.
Signed,
Minimus Ambus

[Now there are single sentences per line. Which...does help keep this writing organized. He hopes most people here use proper spelling and punctuation.]

uuuuuuuuuuh
definitely use the paths! don't cut through the forests unless you have to
people get lost out there and sometimes they don't come back
i set up a couple of torches along the path from the harbor to the Landmark
once you get off the ferry, take a right at the church and follow that path
you'll know you're heading the right way if you see the lighthouse on the lake to your right

Are you having trouble with the punctuation keys?
no subject
no! uh. is this bothering you?

[Yes, it bothers him immensely.]

[Heβs stressed and anxious and he likes having some form of control in his life. But heβs. Not going to mention all that.]

Readability is one of the many problems that arise with inconsistent writing styles. That's why it's important to keep to the agreed-upon language structure in formal writing.
no subject
Okay, that makes sense. But what about when I just wanna talk to my friends? I mean, they can tell me that it bothers them and I'll stop, but sometimes I'm just really bad at remembering what goes where? And that's not something I wanna think about when I'm just trying to see what my friends are up to. That's not a formal writing thing, is it?

[...sounds like a fun guy.]
In a perfect society, we would write exactly what we mean, and those words would perfectly encapsulate our thoughts. However, we all must agree on the correct usage of the vocabulary.

I don't think my head's made for that, though. In a perfect society, I'd probably do pretty bad because I can't put what I'm thinking into words all the time, and even when I do I don't have the right words sometimes. I don't really think in a straight line. It'd all come out a mess! I'd rather say something and then figure out if I made mistakes. It's better than waiting and waiting until I have everything perfect! Then I'd never say anything at all. Do you know what I mean?
no subject
I do not.
I prefer not to perform damage control each time I speak.

Anyway, that's really impressive! If I could say exactly what I mean the first time around, I'd have way less problems to deal with. I guess it must have been kind of hard for you, though? Since the people where you're from didn't think the same way you do.

I believe I must claim a room at the Landmark before the best ones are unavailable. Thank you for your help.
I look forward to talk with you again.
[There. That's how people talk to each other, right?]

Sure, any time! I live in the Landmark in room 301. Drop by if you need anything!
