[ there's something familiar in that refrain, and Vanitas' eyes jump to the username to commit to memory, to look for it later. being deserving of help, not needing to be alone... some part of him has been looking for that kind of validation. but his anxiety is so high right now, the tension of the moment he's in so intense, that he can't see this for the helpful offer it really is— all he sees is pity, and the usually, ridiculous heroics of a lightbearer. ]
