[ Ellever had tried to post something with audio, but anxiety has gotten the best of her. Especially since she doesn't know a lot of people in Beacon, just yet. So Beacon is just going to have to deal with her terrible texting skills unless they respond with audio. Her work emails are beautiful and perfect, like the book nerd she is, but just jotting down a quick something? Sorry. Just sorry. ]
hi everybody! hope you all had an okay new years? can't say i missed the ball drop thing in new york. but i don't think i'm a huge fan of the onion thing the spirits like?
this is elle brandt, if we haven't spoken before. i have kind of a favor to ask of some of you? i'm looking for any musical instruments that we have here in beacon. either instruments you have, if you don't mind me borrowing them for just a little while, or instruments you've seen laying around somewhere (if possible). i found a kazoo in the general store but that's about it.
i won't be borrowing them for very long, hopefully. if they're really important to you, don't feel obligated. we don't have too many good distractions around here. especially if it's from your home.
thanks for taking the time to read this, if you have, i appreciate it.

[ Thankfully, Ellever only knows of the one kazoo, so everyone's probably safe. ]
having a normal band here would be kind of nice. but i'm a long ways off from starting anything like that.

[Please god don't let the spirits ever get a hold of it.]
I suppose you could ask Rastus for some more instruments, but just don't practice anywhere close to where I live.
I don't sleep, but I value my quiet.

[ A growing number of people have essentially asked her to, and she isn't that clueless. ]
i'm nice like that.
not that i'm going to be practicing songs or anything like that. just the tones we need to communicate.

I do so hate to say it, but I'm afraid the kazoo has the leg up on this one.
Here's hoping you find something else handheld.
[... Actually.]
The tablets could probably be used to make the tones, or at least to record them.

using the tablets would be very useful. everyone's got one of them.
is there a program on them that'd work?
no subject
Not at the moment.
Sure, you can record audio, but not produce it wholesale.
It probably wouldn't be too difficult to engineer, a music-making program.
Too bad I'm not really in the mood to do that for free.

[ That takes time. They might be dead, but their time is still valuable. Especially since they're trying to solve all of... this. ]
what if i recorded a bunch of audio from all these instruments, like notes? then I could play them back and i wouldn't need to cart a piano around.
[ A piano has nice, clear, loud sounds. It's the best candidate, she thinks. But hey, why not the menagerie too. ]

A nice practical solution.
Though the tablets do have a limited range with their audio, so you'd probably have to get relatively close to communicate.

[ More things to do, and occupy her mind with, are appreciated. It's so much better than sitting in her home and compiling what information she stumbles across. ]

[Sorry Ellever, that's the closest you're getting to a "you're welcome".]
