Hello, fellow citizens of Beacon. It's me. Eliot. [ for however grandiose his tone remains, there's boredom lingering underneath. ]
We're getting to that time of the year, and I'm sure most of you still look lovely in the same clothing you arrived in, but without a doubt your sundresses and polos are not sufficient for the. Well. Gradually lowering and soon to be possibly freezing temperatures.
Of course, there's your choice of thrift shop clothing available in the general store, and far be it from me to keep you from popping tags and looking for a come up, but I've also perused the same clothing and. [ he hums and sighs. ]
If you'd like some winter clothing that fits you better and has been freshened up for your use, let me know. Let's get you clothed properly, mm?
[ there's a pause. a slow inhale, a soft puff. it seems he's smoking. ]
Anyway. Anyone here know A Christmas Carol? We have their permission to reuse their stage as we please, so long as we invite them to whatever we use it for. They showed us their own production, so I was thinking why not give back one of our own.

Basically for the same reasons you couldn't find anything that fit you, though. Granted you're much taller than I am, but. Even my height and build has it's limits when it comes to accommodations, where I'm from.
If you don't mind me getting some measurements, I can definitely make any adjustments you'd need so things would fit you properly.

Forgive me if this sounds silly, but I'm assuming you'd want some sort of currency in return, is that correct? If so, what would you be looking for? I just arrived here, so I don't have much yet.

If repayment is something you're set on, you could always just owe me back some manner of favor? If that suffices.

They're just raw materials for me to work with at this point. Nothing fits me properly, so I've already needed to disassemble quite a few prêt-à-porter for the sake of making real clothing.

@hello
And we'd love to help you with a production of A Christmas Carol! I'm very familiar with the text.
[ He might have met Charles Dickens a couple times ]

But that's wonderful news! I could certainly use the help in replicating a proper script, if you trust your familiarity enough. I'll admit I probably should have paid more attention in my theater days, but I always found the musicals far more compelling to remember.

Can you show me?

But I wouldn't mind helping you make something better suited for your tastes, if you're interested. They'd probably fit a bit better too.
Ah, actually I could think of a few things I could fix up to suit you already. With the things I already have at my cabin, I mean.

Action if that's okay?
So rather than a network message, Eliot will find the metal-armed-guy from the ferry crash last month, and from the dock repair, and from just kind of around peering at wherever he's sitting, and/or knocking on the door if he's at home. They look vaguely uncertain, maybe a little uncomfortable, but also a tiny bit hopeful. It's all very subtle, but still there if you look.
Without even a greeting, it says (they say, they dammit),]
Can you show me? The clothes thing?
works for me!
eliot has to clear his throat, having opened the door and then kind of. stared in surprised. but then his expression is back to normal, easy and relaxed. unmistakably friendly, as he tends to be. ]
Yeah, sure. Come in. [ he waves bucky in, holding the door open for his guest. ] Anything specific you're wanting?

Quite the offer.

But I'm sure you would find more comfort in something warmer. And, anyway, like a few more layers could ever stopped me.

Are you unfamiliar with the Macklemore masterpiece know as Thrift Shop? Because that would explain your hearing loss.

I enjoyed being a part of the theatre club when I was in school. I'd be willing to help out with a production.

And you don't know how pleased I am to hear I'm not the only one who was a theater kid. What did you usually do?

[He sighs.] But you have a point, we need to get a better set of clothes. I'm guessing you have a plan for that?
[The other part though?]
That's the one with Kermit the Frog, right?
[He's mostly teasing, he may know there's also a Scrooge McDuck version...oh and I guess some short story? Maybe?]

[ and damn is that one hell of a reference. it makes him so happy to hear it though. ]
You know, I almost wish we could just put that up on a projector. It's such a classic? And I love a good Muppets movie. But also maybe the spirits would find that kind of boring and lazy of us.

Is it the little Gucci dress or the little Gucci dress? I haven't been able to decide in months.

Have you tried the little Gucci dress instead?

@silver | Audio
Would we have enough volunteers for that? Would we have auditions? [Asked with amusement. This is not a very Christmas Carol-y crowd, in her estimation.] I'll take Past, if no one else chimes in.
Or Yet To Come.
no subject
You're the first to volunteer for anything specific, so I'd say it's first come first serve, if you know enough to have a preference. Auditions would be something of. A task. [ he chuckles amusedly anyway. ] I think I'd be lucky enough to get even the bare minimum of cast needed, so multiple roles probably won't be completely out of the question.

I'm afraid I don't know the, ah...performance of which you speak. But we could do with a little more culture around here.

Hm. It's okay if you don't know it. There's someone who can help me with building out the script now. Would you be interested in helping, given that?

Oh, but that seems to be what they always push on women during the winter months, no? [ he's seen all the flannel boyfriend shirts going on sale during winter, anyway. ]
