Text @ Soldier, August 7

This is Soldat.

It seems like there is only me and the Ambassador left who speak the spirit language well. We should not be the only translators in case something happens to us. And also we can't go with everyone on every expedition.

On Sundays and Tuesdays at 1900 I will teach people more of the language at the church. I sing it but I have worked out how to make the notes on the instruments in the general store and also you can whistle it. I'll have instruments for anyone who needs them. The first one will be in two days.

Please let me know if you would like to attend so I know how many to expect.

[And so they know how many people to be prepared to be stared at by.]

I would like to take up your offer, Soldat. It seems the spirits play a vital role in Beacon and I would love to better communicate with them.

I've been trying to learn it by myself so far but having a tutor would be wonderful.

[ it's been an interesting experience. her mother and her grandfather's past lessons for learning french have used ot learning new languages. learning a musical language, on the other hand, is a bit trickier. ] -You mentioned the use of instruments for the lessons. Plural. Do you recommend one in particular over the others?

Ah- Those instruments being offered for free. Yes, I saw them on my first day here in Beacon.

I'll make sure to retrieve one of them before the lesson. While it's a shame the piano has been damaged, the mobility of the ocharina trumps the classicality of the piano, I think.

How kind! Thank you in advance if I do forget.

Do you have any tips or advice when learning the language, by the way? I would like to continue studying the language before the lessons. So I'm not completely clueless as to what we're doing.

That's fascinating to know. If not for the fact this is being so thoroughly documented and studies, I would think this is an argot or cant and not really a type of vernacular.

All the same! Thank you for the advice. I look forward to the lessons in the coming days. Is there any way I can repay you?

I have no musical talent. Whistling would be the safest option.

[HAHA THIS GUY WHISTLE?]

I...do not, now that you mention it. I gave away the flute I had, I will need to go and get another one. I have seen some in the shop, still.
