so me and wash and gene were gonna go on an adventure in the woods
see what we can find, you know?
but we're looking for a couple of people to bring with us
maybe two or three
gene's a medic, wash is a marine, and i'm a wizard with experience dealing with monsters and nasty magic
anyone that thinks they could round that out would be great
but no serial killers or anyone that would like
murder us in our sleep
and sorry, but no kids yet
i know some of you are gonna argue that, but we have no idea what we're dealing with and we don't want that on our consciences

we've already talked about magic.

i'm also a werewolf. that means my sense of smell and hearing is probably better than anyone else's here. i don't need a medic to heal myself.

can you change whenever you want, or is there a limit?
and do you just turn into a regular wolf?

i can change whenever i want and i stay in control of myself, for the most part. that's not how it works for every werewolf clan, but it is for the one i'm descended from.

i look like a mostly normal wolf, but that's about where the similarities end.

well, i'm not a wolf. i'm still me. i'm stronger and faster than an ordinary wolf, etc.

there's also the whole glowing eyes thing, but that doesn't matter as much here.

when you turn into a wolf, can you see as well in the dark here as you did at home?

it's not weird. it's one of the first things i tried.

but no, i can't. there's something really wrong with that darkness.

yeah
i'm a half elf, so i can see in the dark too
usually
but not here

it's not just really dark. it's like a complete absence of any kind of light, like all the light is just being sucked away or destroyed.

elves are a new one for me.

i've got pointy ears and everything

makes me wonder if they really were around where i'm from and i just hadn't run into one yet.
