Hello there, everyone, this is Aziraphale. With the advent of the Songbird on our devices, I was hoping to ask you all a favor. Or, well, it's more like a proposal, really. If people with musical talents could volunteer their time, we could record some songs with our devices and publish them for public listening on the why-fye.

I was also wondering if anyone here was familiar with the work of someone called Freddie Mercury, or perhaps one of the Velvet Undergrounds? They are performers from Earth, somewhere in the latter half of the 20th century or early 21st century. I would like to make a personal request that we could make some of their music available post-haste!

I admit that I have very little to offer in this project, myself. However, if anyone is interested in book passage recitations, I would be delighted to take requests, provided I'm familiar with the material!

Dear Wayne, What excellent choices! I do know a few of the Sherlock stories, but I'm afraid I've forgotten most of my Sun Tzu. I think with some assistant from the Emperor, we could write it again. I am currently in the process of translating The Iliad into modern English from what I remember of the original Greek. It is difficult going, but I will put the Odyssey on the docket as well. Unless - do you happen to know Ancient Greek? It would save a lot of time! Sincerely, Aziraphale

Art isn't something I find myself particularly capable of. But if you still have need of translations from Ancient Greece or other human languages, I could offer my assistance.

There's no need to worry. I realize they were a varied selection, I thought it might be the best option as far as requests go. Unfortunately my Greek is mostly modern. [He hasn't met Wonder Woman yet, alas.]

I don't want to add to your work unnecessarily. I'd be perfectly happy to enjoy the Iliad when you've finished, if that's alright. Though I suppose having it available in both Ancient Greek and English would permit me to practice.

Oh, you just have to record yourself on the little device!

Hello again Wayne, Ah, yes. I have not recorded my Greek, but I have written down up to book 8 so far, with various drafts of translations and notes, if you would like to read those instead! That way you can also see the literal translations. Perhaps you could even help with adding poetry back into the translation. I would very much appreciate your input. Sincerely, Aziraphale.

There were other songs that he had downloaded: crooners and boy bands and jazz and classical Cybertronian music. All of that gone, abandoned in his office. The only source of music is whatever the ferry brings and the collections hidden in the downtown shopping center.

Some music would help with the darkness.

The problem was that in order to help Arizaphale, he would first have to admit one of his secret hobbies. The solution was to offer his suggestion in a roundabout way.]

How do you plan to download music from various planets when we do not have network access to our collections? There are hundreds of thousands that each person can offer, especially considering that I have seen many popular lists in my 5 million years of functioning.

[Not specifying anything in particular...nothing damning about mentioning that you've lived a long time and don't have just one or two pieces in mind.]

An acquaintance once accused me of imposing poetry upon her, but I fear she had my measure wrong. You'll find my use spanning language easily enough, but ending at poetry.

Don't tell the local humans, but I did originally root for the Neanderthals mostly due to their knack for poetry.

Five million years? Oh, excellent! We will have to find a way. There are recording applications on all of our devices, so I assume that we can play something and record it, to be shared on Songbird. I am not sure how to publish music on that application, but I will figure it out!
