hey everybody
is it just me or does this feel like the beginning of some freaky horror game?
not that i'm saying this is a game
cuz it's not
but a lot of scary ones kind of start out like this
next we're gonna find clues to some tragic backstory and then i dunno
that lady at the lighthouse is gonna come in to either save the day or torture us
( and for the record i really really really hope the second part's not true )

anyway uh
i figured this would be a good way to introduce ourselves maybe
and throw out whatever skills we have to contribute to this whole thing
i'm not really the leader type
but i'm sure people are already trying to figure stuff out
me and my friends are...

if anybody's got questions or needs someone with good aim just hit me up

[ She misses home. Even misses the traffic and the tourists. Just a bit.

It takes her a few minutes to send her next message. ]

[ It'd be good to see how far at least one of her powers went. Might as well start with the one least likely to ~~hurt someone~~ freak people out. It'd be good to have someone there too, considering the last time she tried to stretch it, she passed out. ]

[ not that they have a whole lot of options considering, but he's gotten pretty familiar with the usual spots. and if he's got his lantern, it doesn't take too long to really get there, so. he's definitely ready. and besides, what else is there to really do to pass the time around here? ]

How about the new post office thing? Shouldn't be too many people around, and I've been wanting to check it out.

[ She says after a moment of building up courage. ]

[ since it's not actually that far from where he is, but he tries to take his time because he doesn't want to look desperate to make friends with everyone in the town. ]

[ With that, she puts her tablet down and starts getting ready, adding on various layers until she's once again bundled up. With a deep breath, she opens her lantern hatch, having caught on that it's probably a bit weird walking around with a dark lantern.

A few minutes later, she is approaching the building, looking around for the person she's supposed to meet. ]

[ the post office is pretty deserted right now, which honestly isn't a surprise. it seems like most people have stuck to the inn because it's near the bonfire, but prompto's used to the dark in ways that a lot of others aren't. he'd been living this way for over two years, so it's not too much trouble to navigate the area with his lantern brightly lighting the way. and catching movement out of the corner of his eye, he turns toward her. ]

Hey, are you – [ there's an awkward pause before he laughs sheepishly. ] I guess I didn't get your name before. I'm Prompto, by the way.

[ Oh yeah, it's pretty obvious who since he's the only one here. She waves sheepishly as she approaches, adjusting her sunglasses a bit before finally speaking up. ]

Oh uh, h-hey. I'm Coraline. Nice to meet you.

[ God she hopes this goes well. ]

[ he gives her a quick once-over, wanting to ask about the glasses but deciding not to. it feels like it'd be one of those insensitive things, and besides, maybe she's wearing them for a reason. not his place to ask, so he just nods in return. ]

You too. [ there's another smile. ] Wanna head inside and check the place out? You can tell me how this guessing thing works too, if you want.

[ She automatically smiles back despite it not being noticeable. He just seems so nice. Most people have been super nice really, two assholes notwithstanding. ]

Uh, yeah. Sure... [ She pauses for a moment. ] I'm really not sure how it works though? It just. Does. [ Not technically a lie. ]
