[ this is most definitely a useless post. look, he doesn't have anything useful to contribute just yet except the art of making conversation. ]

hey everybody
is it just me or does this feel like the beginning of some freaky horror game?
not that i'm saying this is a game
cuz it's not
but a lot of scary ones kind of start out like this
next we're gonna find clues to some tragic backstory and then i dunno
that lady at the lighthouse is gonna come in to either save the day or torture us
( and for the record i really really really hope the second part's not true )

anyway uh
i figured this would be a good way to introduce ourselves maybe
and throw out whatever skills we have to contribute to this whole thing
i'm not really the leader type
but i'm sure people are already trying to figure stuff out
me and my friends are...

right right skills
if anybody's got questions or needs someone with good aim just hit me up
guns are sort of my thing ✌️
or i guess if you need somebody to talk to i'm a pretty good listener too

( humans are so strange. well, obviously but it's just so much harder to explain than she would have originally thought. then again, perhaps she shouldn't be surprised that other humans were just as kind as rose.

and so, with only the smallest second thought, she moves to turn to change the conversation thread into a video on her end. just briefly, just enough to show herself smiling and be able speak: )

[ well, now she's just stuck looking at his face because it's easier to talk sometimes than it is to text, and prompto gives her a smile right back, trying to ignore the fact he can feel the blush working up into his face. ]

I knew it! You really are super pretty when you smile.

( it really is easier, it also gives her a reason NOT to cry just because someone is being nice to her while her brain continues to try and force her to believe that she is grossly unworthy of something as simple as niceness.

still-- it's a little hard not to keep smiling as she shakes her head. )

[ he waves it off, smiling back at her. prompto has no idea what it is about her, why he feels so drawn to wanting to help her and get her to see the bright side of things, but he isn't going to question it too much. not when she actually looks somewhat happy right now. ]

I get that a lot, but it's okay. [ there's a soft laugh. ] Better ridiculous than all the other choices out there, right?

( again, she has to shake her head. although her smile fades slightly, she is still looking in a far better mood than she has since their initial arrival in this place. )
