i dunno if anyone else is staying in the library but i'm gonna set up there for a few days
sorry if i'm invading someone else's territory
i'll leave as soon as i can get somewhere permanent to stay

if i missed any let me know but otherwise i'm good on my own right now
no offense to anyone! it's just that i just got here.
[ The implication being that he wants to keep some cautious distance for now! No couchsurfing with strangers. ]

Unless the library is suitable for you. At least it will be quiet.
no subject
yeah it's quiet but i don't want to be here forever
not really a book fan
i'll clear out asap
you guys are friendly so i know i'll find someplace soon
it's a me thing
no subject
However the safety of it is debatable at the moment.

you gonna be comfortable there?
no subject
it's not gonna be the worst off i've ever been
why
is there something i should be looking out for
no subject
i just don't think i've ever heard of anyone sleeping in a library before.
that's all.
i guess you'd have plenty of makeshift weapons if you ever needed to throw books.
no subject
there weren't a lot of libraries open 24/7 where i was from either
the college library was always open though
i used to sleep there when i didn't want to go back home
i know the drill
[ Don't touch anything, don't deface anything, and bring a backpack and look like you at least intended to be studious. He could get away with a night or two like that, especially during exam season. ]
no subject
i'm just trying to imagine what it would be like.
are we really out of space that the library's the last resort?
no subject
it's just kind of weird especially if you end up by yourself and you're not a big book fan
it's usually pretty quiet tho
good for six hours or however long i needed
[ He could never stay for very long. The discouragement of human interaction above a whisper drove him crazy! ]
uh i actually got offers from a couple of people here
but uh
no offense i know we're all in the same boat
or at least we got here in the same boat [ rimshot ]
but i also... just got here?
i wanna check things out first
[ ... Well, a little caution is something he's been practicing, but that's not the only reason. This is just the easiest one to understand. ]

@ELVIRA
i hope you at least ask the librarian before you ruin the atmosphere with your snoring
no subject
i know how this works, i can do a few favors for them
is there something i shouldn't be messing with in there?
i just don't want to freeze! i'm not a book thief or anything
no subject
the librarian likes to keep the place in order. make sure nobody messes with the books and put them back if you use them, is my advice.
fair enough on freezing but i'm not sure how warm the library is going to be, it wasn't made for residency. any particular reason the floor of the library is more enticing than the floor of the invincible?
no subject
i'm not gonna touch them, promise! i got a lot of reading homework on the tablet anyway. [ He's fresh off the boat, after all! Nothing like reading up on this world they're trying to save to put him right to sleep.
As for her other points... Huh. Far be it for him to say that it seems like she's worried. Maybe she doesn't want a corpse in the library? That'd definitely stink up the place.
But, uh. Well, he does have a real answer for that, but he's pretty sure that this network stranger wasn't asking for his life story. ]
to answer your question... stranger danger?
otherwise i plead the fifth!
no subject
being too softspoken is not something anyone has ever accused Carm of, however, so she's happy to complain for the Librarian by proxy. )
i'm not sure that social anxiety is a good excuse for crashing in a public space, but sure.
that said, if the librarian tells you to hit the bricks, i'd do it. i wouldn't want to be on their bad side.
no subject
i won't bother the librarian! they're cool
do you know what they like? if i stay more than a few days i'm down with paying rent and cleaning
i wanna pay them in what they want tho

As far as I know, it belongs to the librarian, so you will have to ask them.
However, they are amenable to bribery by sweets!
I hope that helps matters, though it is not a particularly residential space and I am not sure you will want to stay more than a few days.
Sincerely,
Aziraphale.
no subject
i asked and i think they were okay with it but i wanna give them something to thank them especially if i stay there for longer than a few days
thanks aziraphale
btw we met near the boat? you helped me with the boxes and did that thing with the crowbar
(actually i was meaning to ask how you did that?)
no subject
Ah, yes, I believe we have met!
And I merely used it to open the crate, you have to get it at just the right angle.
If you would like a more concrete answer, they understand some English and can write back. They also like drawings.
Yours,
Aziraphale.
no subject
is it weird to say that i think i'm better at cooking than i am at drawing?
[ Or is it only weird because he's sort of a teen dude who grew up with a bunch of other teen dudes with hangups over that sort of thing? ]
do they ONLY understand english? i think i read about them knowing morse code, and there's the whistling thing, but i wonder if they know anything else
[ ... May be thinking about chatting them up in three different languages. Who knows??? ]
no subject
I am not sure about that. You will have to try! I assumed that they would be most proficient in English, of the languages on Earth, because I believe this town quite resembles one in Northern America, or perhaps coastal Canada. The literature in the library is also mostly in English.
Yours,
Aziraphale.

good for them
