This is Wade. Doc Hicks and I wanted to put the word out that anyone who needs medical attention now or in the future can find one of us - I'm in Room 310 and Gene's camped out by the bonfire. We're in the process of establishing a clinic in the chapel vestry for the sick and injured. If you have any information on new medical developments from your time or have any medications from the future, please share them.

And lastly: if you go out into the woods, bring one of us along. That's what we're here for.

And you shouldn't go alone. Wait until there are enough people to send out a proper group. One soldier and a noncombatant aren't a match for some of the stuff that might be out there.

[ wade frowns at the screen. he's not dense, and after being around other men with little to no female company he's pretty easily able to catch the spartan's meaning. his issue isn't with the principle - he's thought about being with other men himself - but more with the wording. the strange sense of entitlement and the lack of respect - and the general nebulous sense of unease he gets from the message. ]

I'm not the master of you, no. But I am your doctor, and there are better places to do what you seem to plan on doing than a forest rife with danger. Provided that Doc Hicks is interested.

[ which, as far as irwin's aware, he isn't - unless gene hasn't mentioned this aspect of his private life, which wade figures would probably make sense upon further reflection. he's not quick to share things, which isn't altogether surprising for an individual in their line of work; wade himself shares that tendency. if that is the case, it wouldn't be fair to hold it against him; it's not as if they've known each other for a while, and most men, himself included, tend to be quiet about this sort of thing. still, it's a stark reminder that there's a lot he still doesn't know about his new colleague. ]
