( Hello there, darkness dwellers. Is this a new voice you here? It sure is, lucky you. The accent is Australian, broad almost to the point of cliche, and there's something oddly lackadaisical about it, given the... well. The everything, really. )

So, not being funny, but has anyone, I dunno... fallen off the ferry and gotten a bit cuddly with some mysterious glowy, kinda ethereal-seeming tentacles?

( And then a pause, and she flips back to English. )

Hm... I suppose if you prefer I don't use honorifics, I could abstain from doing so. [A way to show respect, but he's cool either way.] It was a good attempt.

It’s been a long while since I studied or had a chance to practice.

( Wry, faintly self-deprecating, ) Better than my English at any rate, eh?

Unfortunately, all I know is Japanese. It seems language isn't a barrier here, so I guess that's one good thing about Beacon.

[He says that, but there's not many good things here so...]

Japanese is a pretty bloody great language, though. English and Greek are my main ones.

My thought that the best thing about Beacon was how close it sounded to "bacon," but the language thing is cool, too.
