Oh, wait, hold on - a couple weeks ago Peter pointed out that you guys like super don't know what I look like or anything since I'm not around town. Whoops! I forgot! I'm sorry! So, like, here's a little selfie to dispel the ~mystery~...

That's meeee. :) Super cute, right? But OK!!! Moving onto the fun stuff.

You should all head down to the beach like right away! I got some reeeeeeally neat stuff off the ferry this month to put on a little show for you guys... You might be able to see it a little bit from town, but your best bet is gonna be the beach! Keep your eye on the lighthouse!

And then after that, I have a cool event planned for you guys! I was thinking, like, the bonfire is still pretty contained in one spot, right? Rastus was telling me there's only a handful of torches around town, and I get that? I get that you want to like conserve this resource and all, super glad you're taking it real seriously, but like! It's meant to be USED, you know? Don't be that guy that hoards a buncha potions in Pokemon because "oh no what if I need all 99x of them one day!!!" but like, you're already fighting the Elite Four, you know?

My point is, Rastus is gonna be handing out torches like frickin' candy over the next couple days! You can take as many as you want, BUT you gotta make sure to place them around town to light this place the heck up! Put 'em in buildings or your houses or like, hell, you can light up paths and stuff to make traveling around easier! Put some on the beach to help with the dock you guys are building! IDK just put 'em in places! Use! The! Resource!

Well, SELFISHLY, my main motivation here is that I think you're being a jerk and I'd love for you to simmer down. But given you're already up in my shit, I have a tiiiiiiiny inkling you maybe don't care about my feelings.

So.

Yeah, I'm going with the strategy of pointing out that the other townies might not appreciate you coming at me guns blazing considering they're already scared I'm gonna reset everyone at the first sign of trouble.

You're sitting pretty up in that lighthouse while we're all down here suffering. And last I heard you had every intention of resetting everyone if we didn't figure out some great mystery of this town.

Tell me if I got it wrong.

If you think being Lighthouse Keeper comes without suffering, you haven't been paying attention.

You're right about one thing: I'll reset the town if it comes to that. I would vastly prefer if it didn't, though. I want you guys to figure this out. I'm depending on it, too.

Let me put this bluntly.

I smile and let you live, and then the World Eaters show up and wipe us all out of existence. It will be slow and horrible and inevitable for all of us.

Or, I give you a fair shake at fixing this place, you fail, I kill you mercifully, and a handful of us get to hold onto hope.

Call it selfish if you want, but do the math. I'm not the enemy. We HAVE to work together, or else there is no future in which you survive.
