Have you seen this place and heard about it? There's no sun. The only light we have is the fire, lanterns and what's in the sky. Pretty sure that's a big thing to help fix.

Sometimes the gods can't interfere that's why they ask mortals to find out. They can't normally cross over onto the mortal plane after all.
