[But then it goes silent. She comes outside, frowning up at the roof. If there's a ladder, she'll climb up, but if not, he'd better be looking down and ready to either pull her up or come on down.]

[ Sure enough, he's on the roof. Nate leans over the edge to see her standing expectantly two stories below, and he gives a small wave. ]

You want me up here, or down there?

[ It's partly a joke, seeing as he'd never expect someone to climb something, but if she wants a view he's always got the rope at his hip. ]

[A momentary pause, and then she beckons. Come here, tall child.]

Keep a rope hanging, though.

[Maybe she'll look at the view afterwards.]

[ He rolls his eyes and ignores the request if only because it's a simple matter, tossing a grappling hook up again, and Nate drops over the side of the eaves before clambering his way down with the speed and practice of a man who knows what he's doing.

Thank God the building is sturdy, anyway.

When he drops to his feet again he turns, flashing a quick smile. ]

Don't worry, we can get back up.

[ Nate looks around for a moment, noting the curb and deciding it's sufficient. He seats himself and pats the granite next to him, flashing a quick smile as he pulls out his tablet. ]
