Hi. Simple request, for anyone who wants to chip in on this little experiment.

There isn't fodder readily available to work with, but if it's not too inconvenient, mind saving some seeds from the food you're eating? Just wash them clean and let them air dry. The more there is to work with, the greater the success will be.

[ he doesn't really go into further detail, but the intent is likely obvious. someone's planning on doing a little gardening and seeing how it fairs here. ]

Is the food we've got actually from here? Might need sunlight otherwise.
sauntered_downward: (hmmm?)

[Why would they ever be without their regular shipments? It's not like someone is going to steal the ferry or something.]

Wrong kind of light for most vegetables. They're pickier, like things very bright. Leave the lights off too long and they all get haughty and die.

You'll just need to find out if they grow here. Because plenty of things grow here without any light at all. Don't have to use torches, just watch them grow in the darkness.

Oh, no. You're not one of the scientist-types we've got around here, are you?

Most people I know who are magicians are huge nerds.
sauntered_downward: (you don't say)

[personal profile] sauntered_downward 2019-09-13 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's exciting. A magician who can make real magic. [This could be you, Aziraphale.] Is there anything this town can't do?

Besides offer a decent bottle of scotch, which is apparently completely out of their reach.

Thought about selling off any of it? Could make a bit of money on something like top shelf tequila to the right people.
sauntered_downward: (they don't suspect a thing smile)

[There's a five minute space between the last text and this one as Crowley really, really considers his response. He does love tequila.]

I'm not anybody's friend. But I'm a good drinking companion.
sauntered_downward: (oh really now)

[personal profile] sauntered_downward 2019-09-18 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh thank whoever. I was worried I was going to have to make up something serious.

No, I haven't been yet, but I can find it. Meet you there.
sauntered_downward: (omg please)

[personal profile] sauntered_downward 2019-09-28 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Crowley didn't even dignify that text with a response. He really shouldn't be spending time with a human here. What was it Aziraphale called it? Fraternizing. Even though this was to get some tequila, which Crowley realized he was missing quite a bit right now. Especially in this place.

The beach isn't hard to find, and he holds up his lantern, looking out into the dark through his sunglasses. Even used to them as he is, he has to admit they're a bit ridiculous in all this dark.]

i like it all right when the weather's not great, too, so i don't think the dark is going to make that much of a difference
so long as something grows

Sure. Happy to help the cause.

Where are you planning on planting?

( it's fine... Matt is actually the least likely candidate to blindly trip over sprouts, so there's that too. )

You could put up some sort of fencing, though I'm not sure how many available materials we have to that end.

Fair point. He already has plenty on his plate.

( sad that in all the people sucked into Beacon, there's really just the one that knows how to build anything... what are the odds.. . . . . . )

I'm not sure if they're known to be possessive or not. Presently they do seem more inclined to work with us than against us, though I don't know how they'd feel about a fence.

Not necessarily all of them are violent, no. There are at least a few that aren't.

I was thinking twine around sticks, just enough for people to know they're about to walk into something. Should I ask what makes white picket fences monstrous or am I better off not knowing?
