Hi. Simple request, for anyone who wants to chip in on this little experiment.
There isn't fodder readily available to work with, but if it's not too inconvenient, mind saving some seeds from the food you're eating? Just wash them clean and let them air dry. The more there is to work with, the greater the success will be.
[ he doesn't really go into further detail, but the intent is likely obvious. someone's planning on doing a little gardening and seeing how it fairs here. ]

Same concept, but with torches. It's worth a shot if we ever find ourselves without our regular shipment.

Wrong kind of light for most vegetables. They're pickier, like things very bright. Leave the lights off too long and they all get haughty and die.
You'll just need to find out if they grow here. Because plenty of things grow here without any light at all. Don't have to use torches, just watch them grow in the darkness.

I did say it was an experiment, didn't I? Besides, if light doesn't work as expected already, who's to say the plants follow the same rules? These trees definitely grew to full height without any trouble, one can only assume.
Yes, thank you, sweetheart. That was the point.

In my experience, scientists don't know shit about a good time.

oh
Jesus Christ Superstar, no. Not stage magic bullshit. God.
I can actually use magic. Big difference. Also less lame when I can light shit on fire with the snap of my fingers.
Or could, before I got stuck here.

Besides offer a decent bottle of scotch, which is apparently completely out of their reach.

Tell me about it. I came with some [ actually a lot ] of my favorite tequila, and it's better than all of the stuff being served here.
Which is a shame because I'm sure if this is all I drink over the next few months I'll probably grow to hate it, but I don't want it to go to waste either. Not when top shelf is unheard of here.

That said, I certainly wouldn't mind sharing with my friends. [ i.e. hi, would you like to submit your application? ]

I'm not anybody's friend. But I'm a good drinking companion.

Good enough for me.
You been to the beach yet? I'm finding it's a great spot to just take it easy and toss back a few.
[ swigs, shots, what have you. ]
no subject
No, I haven't been yet, but I can find it. Meet you there.

I'll be the one with the lantern. [ get it? because it's empty and-- forget it. ]

The beach isn't hard to find, and he holds up his lantern, looking out into the dark through his sunglasses. Even used to them as he is, he has to admit they're a bit ridiculous in all this dark.]
@ grizz
i'll save up what i can
do you need any help with it? i don't have any experience with doing it in the dark, but i know how to garden and farm a bit

I can only eat so much of one type of food before I start going crazy.
I'm definitely not opposed to having a hand. it does take a lot of work to tend to, or so I'm told.
[ he acts like it's something of a mystery to him, but he really does know more about it than he lets on. ]

[ if you have a library and a garden, you have everything you need. grizz more or less lives by those words. ]

you LIKE work?

Isn't the whole thing only supposed to be like. "Oh, hey, the sun is out and shining, and oh what a beautiful day for gardening!" or something like that?

so long as something grows
@HK
Where are you planning on planting?
no subject
At first I was thinking near the village, since then it'd be easier to keep an eye on. There's too much traffic there though. I don't want people blindly kicking up any sprouts.
[ he'd find his wording hilarious if he realized who he was talking to, but. here we are. ]

You could put up some sort of fencing, though I'm not sure how many available materials we have to that end.
no subject
Also I feel like some of the spirits might get pissed that we fenced off an area in THEIR forest, or whatever.

( sad that in all the people sucked into Beacon, there's really just the one that knows how to build anything... what are the odds.. . . . . . )
I'm not sure if they're known to be possessive or not. Presently they do seem more inclined to work with us than against us, though I don't know how they'd feel about a fence.
no subject
I guess something basic with mostly rope might be okay though. I'm realizing you maybe weren't thinking of a Tom Sawyer picket fence like I was, because even I'd get a little mad at someone else for putting up a monstrosity like that.
no subject
I was thinking twine around sticks, just enough for people to know they're about to walk into something. Should I ask what makes white picket fences monstrous or am I better off not knowing?

Does your mom know you're on your phone without permission?
[ who the fuck texts like that. ]
