[there's a bit of a pause before the calm, mellifluous voice begins - he doesn't know the etiquette here. Oh well here goes.]

This is Cao Pi, styled Zihuan, Lord of Wei. I have spoken to few of you here, as of yet, but I hope you will indulge me for a moment. I feel this is important, given the extensive list of casualties in the bulletin yesterday.

Even with the guidance of the experienced residents and a valuable goal, things did not go so well. A number of problems have surfaced, exposing us for the weak and inexperienced fools we are in this land of the dead. Things must change, not the least of which is organization. I have...what you may call some experience in that realm. [dryly with a touch of sarcasm. Yo I'm an emperor in some timelines I got your organization right here] I would like to suggest to the community at large that we gather to discuss our options going forward. Not using this technology, no...I feel that seeing one another face to face goes much further toward fostering community and building trust in one another.

If I understand things right, the next ferry should arrive in a few days. I offer this idea: the day after, everyone keen on sharing ideas for how to prepare ourselves for future disasters should meet in the town hall, so as to include any newcomers. It is not, I am sorry to say, a party. This is a time to unite and share our thoughts and our skills so that we do not end up with another round of chaos like the attacks which ended the party and took so many of those who went out into the forest. Many of you are capable and strong; we cannot afford to sit around and idly muse on possible ways to protect the town and each other in private any longer. For better or worse we are a town unto ourselves, and we must work together.

Then, when the crescent moon rises on the second day of the month, let us meet in the town hall. What say you?

[he leaves the floor open to discuss his idea. If anyone texts him he'll text back but man talking at people is so much easier for a third century dude. Also, he likes to hear himself talk if this post is any indication]

I'll come!

[Even though it's pointedly not a party, he said. And maybe she's not exactly the exact target demographic for this message but you know what he gets her anyway.]

[ Honestly, Riku's not sure preparedness and experience was the problem. Things went wrong in unexpected ways, and those that survived... were lucky. Or unlucky, depending on one's perspective.

On the other hand, that's not really worth arguing when the core message is something Riku supports. Coming together to collaborate on how to move forward. Riku is not a leader, he's not even a good follower, but even he knows when to shut up and color. Took a while learning that, too. ]

Let's partner some of the newcomers with the ones that have already been here a while. We can take them out to find resources, have a look around.

[ To show them how it's done, just in case some new disaster wipes out the others that came before, a possibility that Riku doesn't voice. The weariness is there in his voice anyway. ]

There's the record books, too. If there's anything to add since the last time, better we stay on top of it.

Riku.

[ He's neglected to introduce himself properly for kings and emperors alike before. Mickey's well meaning lessons on manners may have rubbed off a little. He was always good at getting through to troubled teenagers. ]

...The flooding made the search too difficult. We buried Kairi the other day.

There's been other casualties since then.

[ Even if Riku hasn't found his replica Dawn's body, he's well aware he's gone. He could feel it, a piece ripped from his heart. ]

Hmmm...

[She didn't, at least that wasn't the intention of her bright and enthusiastic agreement to attend. Mary does like to maintain, however, that she is as smart and clever as she is creative, so she takes a moment to think about it.]

Maybe from now on we can prepare some kind of welcoming speech or committee of our own? To be upfront and direct the people off the ferry. We can use the things that we know and have experienced so far to guide them, and it'll take some pressure off of Doctor Will and Rastus! We could take turns, so the same person doesn't have to do it each time.

[Aside from that...]

Maybe we could make a list of all the things that people want to do, figure out a priority order, and work on things either one by one or just as we have enough volunteers to do them? That way nobody runs off on their own...maybe if they know that other people are hoping for the same things, they won't feel the need to go alone without preparing better.

[ That's what stings, the sincerity. He doesn't doubt that he means what he says, but the sympathy only hurts. ]

Spare your breath. Sympathy won't bring them back.

[ Riku struggles to maintain a balance between the light in him and his darkness, and right now, it's the latter speaking. He needs something to focus on that isn't his grief, because that's what starts a reset. Stalling, be it from infighting or mourning what can't come back. ]

I'll see what I can add to the log book.

Seems like a good idea. As someone who arrived only recently, it seems as if there's a lot of activity and searching going on, which is good. That said, information doesn't always travel. If we are all stuck here until we understand what is happening in this town, it makes sense to pool or knowledge.

( aka this means he will come listen to everything shared but probably still wander into the forest by himself because teamwork is for chumps. but he'll still go, does that count for anything??? )

It would be foolish to trust someone even after meeting face to face. Though at least you admit to the follies of the most recent events -- something I cannot say for others.

Speaking from experience those who walk among the dead eventually turn on one another, I doubt this place will be much different even with such an inspiring speech.

( WHY NOT he'd prob get a few do-overs!! )

A monthly meeting would be a good way to share both initiatives and progress. If another way to share information shakes out, all the better, but the consistent organization could help us keep moving forward.

No. Just do not misplace your trust in anyone here -- especially those with power. The ones who've been here since before our arrival doubtfully have anyone's best interest in mind.

[Mostly speaking about the lighthouse keeper as he does not trust her in the slightest]

Even in the Netherrealm the fear of eternal torment was not enough to keep some from betraying others for their own goals. This place is a luxury in comparison even with the Lighthouse keeper's threats of a reset.

Which is something that may happen regardless of anyone's actions.

( it's FINE Matt won't know what to do with himself if he isn't getting into potentially lethal trouble all the time. )

That's a good point. I spent a lot of my first month just figuring things out, giving new people a chance to ask questions and hear the basics could avoid some of the initial confusion.

I'll be there, and I'll direct others that way if I can.

Does he usually involve himself in that sort of thing?

( Matt hasn't seen that much of Will, so he really doesn't know him well enough to speculate. )

[Grandmaster. Bi-Han will never not scoff at that.]

Nothing is ever as it seems. My suspicions of those around run deep, but that is not a conversation suited for over this network.

Especially considering who is now connected to it.

I am not complaining.

[He's so complaining.]

I may attend your gathering. If I have anything 'useful' to add, I'll state it then.

With that said, the supposed grandmaster you spoke of ... I see you have met Kuai Liang.
