[Network] - WEEKLY BULLETIN - open

WEEKLY BULLETIN

announcements
  • What do you get when you combine a Catholic and a spirit child? I don't know, it's not a joke, it's just an announcement that one of the spirits-- a baby, it looks like-- has been adopted.

  • What an awful week, though. Both the exploration group and the distraction group did so well, and honestly? It made a difference. You guys should be proud.

  • On a lighter note, autumn is just around the corner! Look for temp drops and gusty weather cropping up in the next week or so.

classifieds
  • None.

  • If you wish to submit an advertisement, please drop them by the post office.

obituaries
  • Capt. Ben Winters: at least he died as he lived: doing something worthwhile. Thank you, Winters.

  • Number Five: clever right to the end.

  • A whole host of people have gone missing since the party... We haven't found their bodies or their lanterns yet, but I think it's safe to assume they're probably gone. Here's the list: Melisandre, Yaeris, Gene Hicks, Ahven Sychantus, Scott Ryder, Nathan Drake, Brienne of Tarth, Raylen Givens, John Constantine, Chloe Frazier, Irwin Wade, Elisha Harper, Dick Grayson, Aragorn, Rafe Adler, Billy Russo, Ben Hargreeves, Kyna Midha, Washington, Sam Drake, Daniel Riordan, Replica Riku Dawn, Eleven, Shadow Moon

[Worthy of note: this bulletin comes to you not via a newspaper, but by the network, now that Robin's connected with you guys once more!]

@HK, TEXT

( it's generally Matt's job to be a huge creep that knows things nobody told him. he finds it slightly disconcerting to have the shoe on the other foot.

but he's not here to talk about his plant baby, instead,
)

Is that amount of casualties normal around here?

@parker

[personal profile] webshoots 2019-08-28 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
This is the first time it's happened for us, as a group.

But as for 'normal'? Doc Ingram or the Keeper would be your best bet for an answer to that question.

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-08-28 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
So no, as far as our group is concerned.

It might be worth knowing historic numbers. I can look into it.

[personal profile] webshoots 2019-08-29 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, but we’ve only been here for what, two months? Sixty days, maybe, at most. It’s not enough time to establish commonalities or patterns — normal’s still a bit ambiguous. Last month, we weren’t attacked. But then, last month we also didn’t venture to the lighthouse. It’d been touted as a risk from the start, and Winters was expecting hostility which says something.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for it to be abnormal but my gut says we’re going to have to look at what we’re doing and what previous groups did as much as the numbers.

Share with the class when you’ve got something?

You've been two, I've only been one. Our trend might be burgeoning, but I'd still like to know about it.

( he's not okay with this being normal, because it's way too many people and Matt distinctly doesn't like it. )

Sure. I can share anything I find at the meeting.

[ nEITHER IS PETER, MATT. ]

Could be worth seeing if there's a total for the populations, ours and previous groups. Normal or not, it becomes about how and why, so is it a percentage of the population? Or is it related to certain activities?

That'd be great, thanks.

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-08-31 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll see what I can do. Anything else? Want me to get you some coffee while I'm at it?

( aka you're being kinda demanding pete, just fyi!!!!! how rude, turning the sad blind guy until your errand boy! )
webshoots: (( face ) glorious face-eating eyebrows)

[personal profile] webshoots 2019-08-31 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Black, please, and if you’ve discovered a way to make it more palatable than what they serve at the Invincible, I’m all ears.

...Sorry, but you know I was just throwing out ideas, right? If you find out anything that we haven’t discovered yet by the meeting, that’d be amazing, but I’m not expecting you to find all the answers either by then or by yourself.

[ like CALM DOWN there matty boy. ]

I suppose we should just be grateful the Invincible has coffee.

( Matt misses proper coffee but truth be told Karen always made it at the office... he drank instant when left to his own devices and there's really nothing sadder. )

I appreciate knowing that, and feel obligated to mention text doesn't lend itself to sarcasm.

( he was teasing... did the Matt in your universe do that ever, Peter? bc this one makes jokes... sometimes. i'm not saying good ones, but he does make them. )
webshoots: (( suit ) and apparently peter)

[ ur not his matt, matt! but yeah, sure, matt joked sometimes. gentle ribbing and self-depreciation at having utterly terrible lives absolutely counts as like, A kind of joke. ]

We should be, but my gratefulness and appreciation doesn't quite extend to a vague cup of hot.

That's all it can be described as, right? Hot.

[ not even hot water, it is quite literally just a cup of Hot. ]
catholicisms: (69)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-09-06 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hot, and vaguely burned. Don't forget that part.

( that's all Matt can taste off it and his dumb taste buds are pretty sensitive. it's still better than nothing. and probably better than his instant coffee, honestly )

I've actually had enough Starbucks for that to bother me less than it should.

I've only seen one or two. Sometimes none.

Never so many at once.
catholicisms: (9)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-08-28 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty unusual, then.

It's a lot of names. Especially considering how many of us there are. I don't know the exact number, but there's certainly less than a hundred.

( by his casual estimate, he'd thought it'd been 50 something. that's nearly a third in the span of a week or less. )
knifecollecting: (Ghosts that we know)

[personal profile] knifecollecting 2019-08-29 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a lot of fighting. I wonder if anyone knows how many of us are here.
catholicisms: (8)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-08-30 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
It'd be good to track our numbers. It could help us avoid more situations like this one.

( maybe it's something that can be raised at the meeting? )
knifecollecting: (I keep looking over my shoulder)

[personal profile] knifecollecting 2019-09-02 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe Robin has an idea of our actual numbers.
catholicisms: (Default)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-09-02 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It wouldn't hurt to ask.

If she doesn't, we could probably poll it easily enough.
knifecollecting: (I keep looking over my shoulder)

[personal profile] knifecollecting 2019-09-03 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
She's in charge of supplies. I hope she would know.
catholicisms: (88)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-09-04 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Is she? I thought Rastus was in charge of supplies, it's good to know who is responsible for what.
knifecollecting: (You're gonna miss me when I'm gone)

[personal profile] knifecollecting 2019-09-10 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I think he passes on requests, but she said she actually gets the items, somehow.
catholicisms: (140)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-09-11 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed that. I thought she couldn't communicate during the disconnect, it is confusing how she'd put in shipment orders.
knifecollecting: (My life's never been a bed of roses)

[personal profile] knifecollecting 2019-09-12 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't ask. She mentioned getting something I had asked Rastus for. Somehow she knew.
catholicisms: (139)

[personal profile] catholicisms 2019-09-13 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Good to keep in mind.

Thanks for the information.
