[text] @dr; on making informed decisions [open]
[Hey everybody it's time for another long-winded infodump from your friendly neighborhood nerdass.]
We're probably getting to the point where I actually need to make introductions again, but I hate doing that, so here's the short version:
This is Dr. Will Ingram, I've been here longer than any of you, and most of the features on your tablet are because of me.
You may even notice a newer one, the application that allows you to make spreadsheets.
You're all welcome.
With that out of the way, here's what I actually wanted to talk about— I come bearing gifts.
No strings attached this time, these have already been paid for.
I said that I would share the results of my little offer about gathering information, and I'm keeping my word.
Minimus already posted his, so I'll be brief with it, but we are not, in fact, alone here.
Though I suspect that was referring to either the spirits or the Wild Hunt, so moving on to more important things. Things relevant to recent developments.
Where did the World Eaters come from? "An unnamed planetary body in DE-739112.9+183662 galaxy", apparently. While we don't know exactly where this is, obviously, it could be useful in the future.
Is there any known way to defeat them? "Not in this universe." Which only means there's no known way, not no way at all, but take that as you will when considering whether or not you want to join the Night Market.
Also take this into consideration: there are 5,291,507,280,265 inhabited planets in this universe. That isn't just me slamming my fingers on the number keys, that is indeed over five trillion, which is literally unimaginable.
So keep that in mind when you're choosing between letting this world die and trying to save it; we are quite far from the only world out here.
That said, I suspect you all already know my opinion, which is that telling us to lie down and die is ridiculous, and the universe does not have intentions. There is no "should", that's all anthropomorphizing nonsense.
Right and wrong are the inventions of people, and that's all.
Anyway.
My final present for you is a map.
The one who bought it is no longer with us, and it seemed foolish to just throw it away.
There's a location at the blue X that your group hasn't discovered yet, and considering its proximity to the medical center, I will not be attempting to rediscover it myself.
Enjoy.
