Hm. I am curious about what images of the past there may be, but dates are less important to me. That is, outside of any effort to narrow down a timeline of the disaster and how quickly it went from portal to what we see here today.

Rise, and set...could that have anything to do with a star or moon or other body? That is the only thing I know of that rises and sets.
