what's the best way to ask someone out?

that isn't "just go up to them and ask". I've tried, it don't work.

I am still having trouble understanding what went wrong in your previous attempts. It is very difficult to give advice, I think, without knowing your situation and without knowing the individual you attempt to woo.

I think sharing a new experience together or offering to introduce one might be a good bet. It's how I first asked my current partner on a date, and we're still together!
