voice;

So apparently in return for getting some supplies to build simple MSE-6 droids, I have to give three of them away. One has been spoken for so that remains two to be given out.

I can really only program it to do simple tasks such as cleaning, deliveries, and simple maintenance for now.

They are going to take a lot of work to put together since resources here are limited so I want to know who wants one. Tell me why you should get one, if you'll actually take care of it, and I will consider your request.

[and with that, he switches off the recording.]

[ooc: Hux will be choosing two recipients at random ICly. OOCly, I will be doing a RNG drawing of interested characters who comment to this post to receive the mouse droids- I will be limiting it to one character per player to make it fair. I'll do the drawing Jan 4th at 12:01 am PST to give everyone a chance. If you aren't selected, Hux will make one if your character wants to trade for it in the future.]

My name's Jason Grace. I live in The Invincible. Having a droid to help around there and the gym would be great, especially for cleaning and simple upkeep of the equipment we keep stored there. I've not had a droid myself before, but I have worked with automatons in the past. They've proven very valuable, especially if cared for properly. I'd never hear the end of it if I treated one of them poorly, so I'm sure the same would apply to a droid.

Is...that all you need to know?

Oh my gosh! That's super nice of you to do.

[ after a bit of humming under daylight's breath: ] Would you consider giving one to Ms. Misty? She's heading the gardening project here in Beacon and maybe your mouse friend can help give her a paw or two when it comes to taking care of the plants and stuff if that's possible.

And for the explanation contest thingy- I can help take care of the droid for her! I'm, um, been trained to do simple droid maintenance like cleaning and simple diagnostics run. [ anything more complicated was his friend's job but no need to give those details up. ]

Could it be programmed to function as a security system? To notify me or to sound an alarm if something were to breech a doorway?

[ Cheryl's well-spoken for a teenager, but the tone of her voice gives her away as being young. ]

How many do you intend to build otherwise?

A dragon. Two dogs.

Oh and I guess Buford. He wasn't an automaton, but he was probably capable of about the same kind of operation you're describing for the MSE-6 droids.

Of course. If they're anything like automatons they can probably do a lot for you if you keep them up to code...well cleaned and everything.

Reasonable.

Four for yourself and three to be donated? Or four in total?

I want one. I can use it to help us get out of here.

I followed the latter, I was just curious.

Was it Rastus who suggested the balancing of the scales?

That won't be necessary. Once alerted I can swiftly dispose of any threat.

In any case, I submit my name for consideration. I'm Cheryl Blossom and I intend to use the droid to further ensure the safety of myself and my roommate.

My experience with droids is admittedly limited but I took meticulous care of my car and other belongings at home. I can guarantee you I'd do the same.

Assuming that "droid" is short for "android", just how large are these things?
And what do they run on? Is it even going to work after the battery dies?
Obviously I haven't decided whether or not I'm even interested, but on the positive column, I'm one of the few people here who could actually maintain the damn thing.
Seeing as how I know what a robot is and how they work.

i'll take one, and take awfully good care of it, promise

( if "awfully good care of it" is the same as trying to reprogram it to prank people, then sure she will. )

I have no idea what anything you just said means except 'something that helps maintenance and clean.'

MRE-6...Was that right? Anyway, what about one for the inn's kitchen? It gets awful messy after dinner.

They're really, really big lizards that can fly and breathe fire. The automaton version was similar looking, though of course made of metal.

I probably couldn't do much in terms of repairs or programming, if that's what you're asking. But I spent enough time around Reyna and Leo when they were doing maintenance or taking care of upkeep to have picked up a little on what to do. And they had very complex automatons...so I'm pretty sure I could work it out.

I'm a quick study.

Are droids common where you're from?
