I think I can answer some of this. The spirits in town aren't necessarily of the same heart as the ones who attacked us. The Beacon spirits are still spirits, the distinction here is they're working around our differences like we are with them. These other ones... they watch us, but they haven't gotten to know us. We might be dealing with two different factions or the spirits in Beacon are outliers for their kind. When you look at us, we have our factions, too. The spirits who attacked seem to have difficulty understanding that just because some of us come back when killed, doesn't mean we mind dying less. Working on it.
