Hello, um, everyone. This is Aziraphale. I know I haven't met all of you, but I have gotten to know a good number of you as of late, and I've come to like you all a great deal, so it doesn't sit quite right with me not to apologize for recent events.

The sinking of the ferry was inexcusable. Our-- my failure, was a direct result of poor planning and lack of transparency, but I do need all of you to know that the intention had been to find our only way out of Beacon as other methods had been exhausted, and it was always in the plan to make subsequent trips for everyone remaining who wished a return home.

But I know that no amount of good intention will bring it back, nor heal your injuries, nor surface the supplies it was carrying. For all this, I am deeply and terribly sorry; this was, in no way, how I should have repaid all your kindnesses. I understand your anger, and you can direct it at me, if you would like, if you have need of a place to focus your ire.

However, I am afraid, actually, that I must ask a favor. I have, though not for lack of trying, not been able to retrieve much of the sunken raw material - if anyone should lend abilities, magical or otherwise, to help in the rebuilding of the ferry or the docks, you will have my deepest gratitude, for whatever that is worth.

I will try to assist with this as much as I possibly can, and otherwise will be available to assist those who require healing, though my ability to do so has been stunted.

To tackle illnesses? Well, we'll have to look out for the young and the elderly, and mostly just try not to all be in too close quarters. I'd be most concerned for The Invincible.

But I think possibly I'll have to ask Misty if she can grow some medicinal herbs in her garden, since we will need those.

As for giving medicine - the dosage, I think, is what will be the problem if we have to manufacture any ourselves. In fact, I don't know how long any of the medicine at the General Store has been there, if it might be expired.

[ Oh no. This is a rabbit hole, Daylight. ]

Would you like me to groom yours, Crowley?

[ He could, if Crowley wanted. He does like the inky black. He doesn't like to do this all by himself. ]

Yeah, that'd be good.

[It's a rather intimate gesture, now that Crowley thinks about it. Still he's meticulously plucking out fallen feathers from Aziraphale's wings, he might as well allow Aziraphale to do the same for himself.

He extends his wings as well. They're immaculately groomed, but he's sure Aziraphale could probably find a feather in there that needs clearing out.]

[ He can't, but he might bend some one way just to bend them back the other. And take his time smoothing them out and ruffling the downier ones to look for any loose feathers.

Not a single one falls out. ]

[Meanwhile, Aziraphale's wings are slowly starting to look better, and Crowley has a little pile of feathers by himself.]

Not sure how we made it all those centuries apart from each other.

We'll have to take care not to waste another moment like we have in the past, dear.

[ He finishes with Crowley's wings, and feels a little sad that he doesn't have more to do. ]

[Crowley's hands hesitate over Aziraphale's wings. Crowley has hesitated so much in the past, and he's waited so long---maybe now is the time to not waste another moment, now is the time to---to---

He smooths down Aziraphale's wing.]

Good as new.

[ He gives them a shake, and then looks at them. They're so nice and shiny. ]

Lovely, thank you.

[ He catches Crowley's gaze and -- yes, what was he saying about not wasting another moment? ]

[Crowley stares into the angel's eyes for a long moment----the angel he has adored from the moment he first saw him---and he finds himself holding his breath.

They could age. They could die. They could have only a few years left together before everything is really over. This is both a second and a last chance for them.

He lets his gaze drift down to the angel's lips just for a moment before he lets out his breath.]

Good night, angel.

[ He looks at Crowley and finds his eyes almost sliding closed of their own accord, drifting to his mouth, as he inches closer and-- oh.

He blinks owlishly, and wonders why he feels so disappointed. ]

Right.

Good night, Crowley.

[ alas, rabbit holes are exactly the type of rabbit holes that daylight likes to dive into.

especially if it concerns the well-beings of others. ]

Then we'll need to check the expiration date for the medicine we have there! Inventory of current supplies shouldn't be that hard to do. [ he says it like it's easy and... okay. maybe it could be easy for them to tackle in the future. more so since their monthly supplies has been, um, shortened. now there's no influx of new supplies to worry about.

... Could we ask the forest spirits for help on this? The medicine stuff? [ he's been saying this a lot to others he's had a chance to speak with and honestly? he's going to continue saying it a lot. he wants him and the others to work together with the forest spirits, determined to bridge the gaps. ] Maybe they can direct us to herbs and plants we can use to help shore up the supplies along with the garden.

It's pretty normal, don't worry about it.

[He sounds amused at the apology.]

My hair used to be black, and my skin kind of coppery. And my scales had a red undertone to them. Pretty typical for a consort Raksura.

[ Elena's already been through the wringer of emotions associated with the ferry crash and the various parties involved in causing it, so she doesn't react to that part of the message. Everyone else seems to be doing a fine job of that already, anyway. ]

I can help rebuild if we can get the materials. I'm not sure how good I'll be with the actual building part of things, but I'm stronger than I look.

Stop time? That's what you got from that? We try to stop time? Geez, no wonder you think we're out of options. Meanwhile, I'm going to (neatly) sidestep that lack of leeway for test runs comment because I KNOW you don't need me to point out the hypocrisy.

But before I do -- if I'd like? That's great, thanks for the recommendation. I'll let you know if the fact that I haven't participated in mass resource destruction runs in my favor.

If you're taking advice though - next time? Maybe try running an opinion poll to see if your great idea actually floats with the general public.

(Oh, and the most complex thing about these devices is the fact that they don't need charging. Just a by-the-by.)

Oh, I don't know. I think the medicine would affect the spirits differently than they would us, but it's worth a shot. After all, I could probably identify most of the plants we'll need.

[ Mostly because he still lives sometimes like it's Victorian England where everyone had an herb garden for medicinal purposes, even if he didn't actually need it. But that was the second-most printed genre of book after religious texts, so he read them cover to cover. ]

But that sounds like a good idea, Daylight, would you like to ask a few of them and I can ask the others?

Oh. Those are lovely colors.

Oh, thank you. I'm not sure how we'll get materials, but I think right now the leading idea is to cut down some of the woods. Have you built a boat before? I thought I'd ask - I'm not sure any of us have.

Dear Parker, I am not sure what you mean by charging, but it seems like they are not very advanced to you, so I don't know how you would get them to support calculations as advanced as you need. I am not very good with technology, but I believe one of my friends might be more helpful in that endeavor.

[ Except that Peter probs doesn't want to talk to him 'cause this entire thing was his plan.

He also writes out responses to the rest but deletes them because he doesn't think they're contributing at all to the conversation, though there is a metric tonne of "Aziraphale is typing..." "Aziraphale has entered text..." ]

[ daylight nods in agreement and remembers that, hey, dummy, he can't see you- ]

Yeah! I knew a few of them well enough I think they would be fine with speaking to me.

[ he's done his best to be friendly with the spirits during his time here in beacon, hoping to build trust or, at the very least, a rapport with some of them. fingers crossed that this has been enough that he can speak with them and learns about the things he's promised to ask the others. so to check on: food, medicine, new places, and so on.

but now onto the very important bit mentioned in this conversation: ] You can identify the plants here? Really? So you have, um, knowledge of flora then?

[ garden buddy??? ]

Well, I have a general knowledge of flora. And I've been reading the books!

And they're very similar to ones back on my planet, if not identical...

At least, I hope they are. They certainly look it.

[ Not that he was a very good gardener to begin with, but at least he kept his plants alive. That was the important part, wasn't it?

That, and he hadn't killed anyone via poison yet. But he also had plenty of help on his side. ]

That is absolutely not where I was going with that.

... There are books we can read about the plantlife here?

[ when he says that, daylight now feels very silly.

of course, he thinks to himself, that there would be books about the plantlife. he lives at the village and has heard about the library and its strange contents. it would make sense that it would have some documentation about its own world.

after he gets over his flusteredness, daylight naturally has a question: ] ... Do you think I can borrow them? The books, I mean, if you get around to finishing them.

Well, thanks. Nobody's ever called me lava-like before.

[Really, Aziraphale is winning lots of points today. Flattery gets you everywhere.]

Ah, yes! They should be returned to the library now, unless Quentin has them. But I think not, probably, he's also a quick reader.
