Hello, um, everyone. This is Aziraphale. I know I haven't met all of you, but I have gotten to know a good number of you as of late, and I've come to like you all a great deal, so it doesn't sit quite right with me not to apologize for recent events.

The sinking of the ferry was inexcusable. Our-- my failure, was a direct result of poor planning and lack of transparency, but I do need all of you to know that the intention had been to find our only way out of Beacon as other methods had been exhausted, and it was always in the plan to make subsequent trips for everyone remaining who wished a return home.

But I know that no amount of good intention will bring it back, nor heal your injuries, nor surface the supplies it was carrying. For all this, I am deeply and terribly sorry; this was, in no way, how I should have repaid all your kindnesses. I understand your anger, and you can direct it at me, if you would like, if you have need of a place to focus your ire.

However, I am afraid, actually, that I must ask a favor. I have, though not for lack of trying, not been able to retrieve much of the sunken raw material - if anyone should lend abilities, magical or otherwise, to help in the rebuilding of the ferry or the docks, you will have my deepest gratitude, for whatever that is worth.

I will try to assist with this as much as I possibly can, and otherwise will be available to assist those who require healing, though my ability to do so has been stunted.

I know you didn't mean for this to happen! [ daylight is so painfully earnest at times it kind of hurts but, perhaps, this is a good time for it to show. ] What's important now is learning how to figure out what to do next.

I'll definitely do what I can to help with rebuilding the docks and maybe the ferry if you guys are in a real pinch. And, for what its worth, at least you're saying sorry and promising to do better. [ unlike certain individuals, judging by one of the comments in this post. can you hear the pure ':/' in his voice as he says those last words? ]

Dearest Eliot, I will try my best. I'm so very sorry, I should have come to see you earlier. And yes, alright, I will have a slice. But please do not go through any trouble on my behalf, especially with your injuries. Yours, Aziraphale.

Yes, I'm afraid I've tried that as well. It's all rather unusable. Perhaps the forest then; we should have enough trees to rebuild.

Dearest Parker, I had taken such a consideration as a worst-case scenario, and pitted it against our current worst-case scenario, which is having an unspecified amount of time at maximum two years to prepare for an enemy that consumes planets that we know little else about, where some powered individuals have found themselves limited. You do not have to believe me, and I do not say this to convince you of my conviction, but I can think of no better way to explain: these actions were not made lightly, nor without care. [She makes her way there shortly after, and here is what Aziraphale sees: Eleven has her arms crossed. She's still wearing the same yellow and black pattern fashion crime she arrived in, but she's at least gained shoes since the last time he saw her in person - he may or may not have noticed on the ferry that she was barefoot.

A curious addition to her attire is the beak shaped cone over her nose and mouth, hence the muffled voice. He may or may not know that Misty gave those out, with herbs and spices in them to help with the stink of the flowers. And while those have wilted and the thunderstorm has washed the stink away, it looks like Eleven has making a Fashion Choice here. She's still wearing hers.

It's creepy. But maybe also sort of adorable. Harder to read her face like this, but the brows are drown together and down. Definitely a frown. The lantern floats in the air behind air - her arms are crossed. She pauses for a moment, observes Aziraphale, and then stalks towards him with firms strides, the crease between her brows deepending.

There's an intensity here. The girl is on a mission, resolved to whatever her intention might be. And she walks right up to him, right up into his face...

... and then her arms firmly and tightly wrap around him in a hug.]

It's okay. You tried. Mistakes happen. It'll be okay.

Yeah! I'm sure we can get something like that whipped up. I mean- The ferry is super important. How else are others going to...

hmm- better to change the topic. kind of. at least redirect it. ] What do you think we have to do the most? Get plans? Get supplies? Something or anything like that?

And what gives you the right to make that decision for anyone else here? You get that you took away agency for 30, 40 people? Ran the risk of resetting the entire town all because, what, you think you've exhausted all options? You're apologizing, but I don't know if you really get it.

[ kol turns away for one minute to go explore...! ]

I'm surprised this didn't piss the Lighthouse Keeper off enough to reset us. Did she accept your apology?

[ if she's anything close to being as emotional as his family… they're still screwed. an apology might help. maybe a lot of grovelling. ]

[ He looks slightly panicked as she approaches - not because he's afraid of her, of course not, she's very small and he's categorized her as in necessary of protection. But he likes her, and he wants to be friends with her, and he feels so terrible that he's caused her any strife and then--

--Oh. ]

Eleven.

[ He breathes this in relief, and hugs her back just as tightly. He is pretty good at this, having practiced it for the last six thousand years, and assuringly rubs her back. ]

The person who chooses to apologize is not the person who needs to. It was a stupid, short-sighted, poorly planned attack and now we have all suffered for it. Had I any authority I would see to it that all three of you were punished.

But I don't. Enjoy your luck while you have any left.

[huff!] I knew that one would be trouble.

Materials, I think. We either have plans or we don't, but I'm sure there are boatmaking books in the library. I'll go check straightaway.

I don't think it will be quite as good as the last one, but perhaps with any luck, we will at least have a functional one!

Dear Parker, Yes, I do understand the severity of what I have done, though I expect you not to believe otherwise. But we are a group not numbering even a hundred, many of us not soldiers, conscripted, as you put it, against our agency, to fight a planet-devouring monster with no information, few weapons, and actual children. Instead of using the very short amount of time we have to train for such an insurmountable task, we are required to fight for our own survival, which we are not guaranteed. Of the forty or so of us, how many had we lost just traversing the woods? What would happen if the next infestation of rats carries with it a plague? Perhaps you do not agree with my decision, but surely you can see how I could arrive at such a desperate and urgent one. Sincerely, Aziraphale.

She has not said, and I expect she does not wish to speak directly to me, but I believe she had told someone this would not cause a reset, if you are worried.

[Crowley stays away for a little over 12 hours. He would probably stay away longer----and he has before, for whole decades, during fights they've had---but hunger and exhaustion eventually overtake him. He limps back to the cabin feeling defeated. He can't even have a proper sulk like this.

He hates being dead.

He opens the door to the cabin.]

( he is really, really surprised to hear that. it doesn't seem like Aziraphale at all. he's... disappointed. apparently even angels make dumb choices sometimes. )

I don't disagree with you, and if you should all democratically agree on a punishment I will accept it, but I warn you that in doing so we gain nothing as a group.

I was tasked with keeping those on board calm and safe, and on that point I have failed miserably, yes. I am sorry, Matt.

[ Aziraphale comes to the door with a cup of tea. ]

Are we talking or aren't we?

Do I have to apologize if we are?

Do we not? Do you come from some place where everyone is on their best behavior at all times and no system of deterrent is ever needed to keep the rogue elements in line?

My primary concern at this stage is ensuring that we as a group move forward and are not putting each other at risk of resetting the whole thing. I will not die again because some idiot decided to run with a fool idea to its awful conclusion. If the only way to deter future idiots from doing the same or worse is threatening punishment and then following through, I consider that a gain.

No, but you must stop being angry at me for having done so.

[Crowley lets out a sigh through his nose]

It's not your job to apologize for me, angel. This wasn't your fault----I think everyone on your post said that, as well.
